• The 2000 California (West Coast) Super Trainer Showdown was the first ever major event that Wizards of the Coast held in North America. More than 7,000 Pokémon fans from all around the world showed up in anticipation of this exciting moment in history, but less than 1,000 people were actually permitted inside of The Quenn Mary for this free-to-play event. Around 6,000 people were greeted with apologies from event staff and simply given a Team Rocket Booster pack and a free ticket to tour the ship as a consolation prize.
