• The 2007 Pokémon World Championships took place in Waikōloa for the first of, eventually, three times. It was a two-day event, 3 counting the LCQ. The main event consisted of 6 Rounds, followed by a single-elimination Top Cut of 16 on Sunday. Only 53 players from around the world were invited to compete in this year's World Championship.

• This event hosted a Last Chance Qualifier. LCQ competitors played 6 rounds on Friday, of which the Top 4 players earned a last minute spot in Worlds.

• This year hosted multiple updates to the premier rating system, which can be found here: web.archive/pokemon-tcg.com

• This was the first year of premier events having the divisions reworked and named what we're familiar with today, "Juniors, Seniors, & Masters."

Invite Threshold

~ Players with the highest "ELO" Premier Rating by the end of the season earned an invitation to Worlds, pictured below.

~ Additionally, players that placed Top 'X' at their countries' National Championship, (varied by country), earned an Invitation to Worlds. (ex. Top 4 players at NA Nats, Top 3 players at Canada's Nats, only the Winner of UK Nats)

~ The Top 4 Players in the LCQ earned an Invitation to Worlds.
