2018 World Championships

XY: BREAKthrough - SM: Celestial Storm

Nashville Music City Center

201 Fifth Avenue South

• The 2018 Pokémon World Championships was the fifteenth consecutive Worlds event, taking place in Tennesse for the first time. It was a three-day event, where anyone who met the Championship Point threshold was invited to play in Day 1 on Friday. Of which consisted of 8 Rounds, anyone with a record of 5-0-3, or 6 wins, moved on to Day 2. 525 Master division players competed in Day 1, with 56 having advanced to Day 2.

• Day 2 (Saturday) consisted of the above players that made it through a rough Day 1, as well as the Top X players from throughout the season, seperated by region, found below. 123 total Master division players competed in Day 2 through 7 Swiss Rounds, resulting in a Top 8 Cut. All Top 8 and Top 4 matches were played out that night, saving each division's Grand Finals for Sunday.

• This event held the second World's Open, the "Nashville Open". Like in 2017, this was a major, sanctioned side event for players to get a head start on their 2019 Worlds invite. Also at the venue was a pop-up Pokémon Center.

• Master's finalist, Jeff Kolenc, was DQ'd, banned and stripped of his title days after the event's conclusion. As he was found to have been stacking his cards on stream, in finals, via a form of hindu shuffling.
